Its’ time to Get a Room at the Palihouse Hotel! Or at least snuggle into the Courtyard Brasserie or lobby lounge.  Check-in to see why the urban lodge design vibe is worth bringing home.  And we are not talking lodge like ski-lodge.  This West Hollywood hot spot is thoughtfully designed…in a life well-traveled sort of way.  With a home-like feel at every turn, you may  question whether your in a hotel or a home…that’s the experience of Palihouse.

So now what? Your inspired, you’ve snapped a few pics of your own and your head is swirling with ideas to steal at check out. Here’s how:

If walls could talk…

Seriously, walls need to breathe too. Create a wall that doesn’t require anything with it. Allow the paint or paper application to draw you in, then add that perfectly ‘imperfect’ touch of layering meaningful things.

What’s your Story?

We all have a story so why not tell it where we live.  A great space should reflect the story behind the walls…your story.  Model homes are for show, not for living in. And you want your guests to kick back and take it all in.

Belly up…

Ever notice how a counter or bar height table feels more engaging?  Ok, maybe it’s the bar that that’s enticing you…either way, creating a similar space at home always keeps you thirsty for conversation.

 Get Out…

Weather permitting, who doesn’t enjoy a meal outside? The trick to making an outdoor space  inviting is to make it feel indoors. Blur the lines here and you can extend your everyday living space.  Pull a color from the interior out for a seamless transition.

Hanging out…

The Pendant light is clearly one of my favorite hotelements!  This works in almost any space and the more unexpected the better.  Like over a nightstand!  It should be treated like art, stands alone, and can bounce light back and forth in a space.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…

Boutique hotels and restaurants are great for  stirring up conversation around the bathroom design. In fact, I’ve seen some I like more than the main space. Get creative with the mirrors…they only need to be large enough to see your face!
